A New Kind of Rectal Catheter

The Cephus Catheter is a colorectal (rectal) catheter intended to instill air or fluid into the colon. This catheter incorporates inflatable balloons: one spherical and a secondary tapered balloon. The augmentation of the two balloons creates an airtight rectal seal.

Founder and CEO

Cephus E. Simmons, Sr. is the founder and CEO of SealCath and the inventor of the Cephus Catheter. Additionally, he is a Radiologist Assistant at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and a Professor Emeritus of radiology in the school of medicine. At MUSC, he supports clinical operations, advises radiologic technologists, and instructs radiology residents and medical school students.
